QA Engineer IV (AI-Powered)

Location: Irvine, CA; candidates are preferred to be located in or near Irvine, or willing to travel regularly into the office.

Salary: $118,000–$150,000 annually, plus eligible variable pay.

What you will do

• Define the QA strategy, roadmap, quality standards, and measurable outcomes for Team Artemis.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks for SaaS products using Playwright.
• Architect end-to-end smoke, regression, and workflow automation across API, UI, and integrations.
• Drive AI-native testing through agentic test generation, AI-assisted defect triage, and Claude Code workflows.
• Program and maintain AI agents for test execution, coverage analysis, and quality reporting.
• Lead, mentor, and grow the outsourced QA team while collaborating with product and engineering teams on performance, scalability, reliability, and new features.

Requirements

• 8–11 years of experience in software engineering development, testing, and/or QA.
• Strong hands-on Playwright experience for browser automation at scale, including building automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Experience with AI-powered software testing tools such as Applitools, Testim, Mabl, TestRigor, TestComplete, UI-TARS, Midscene, and Puppeteer.
• Programming experience, ideally with JavaScript/TypeScript and/or C#.
• Experience with test case management techniques, technologies, and approaches.
• Knowledge of functional/closed-box, boundary, verification and validation, acceptance, load, stress, performance, and HA/DR risk scenarios.
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or Anthropic AI APIs, including prompts, custom agents, or agentic workflows for engineering or testing.
• Ability to lead or technically influence QA or engineering teams, including offshore or outsourced teams, and communicate clearly under ambiguity.
• Strong collaboration, communication, ownership, and cross-department engagement skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jira and Zephyr Scale.
• Experience in large, cross-functional engineering teams with end-to-end automation coverage for complex, multi-product SaaS platforms.
• Healthcare or dental domain knowledge, including clinical workflows, HIPAA compliance requirements, and sensitive data in dental practice management software.
