Software Development Engineer in Test

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $111,400–$181,500 base pay, determined by geographic pay tier and employee ZIP code; eligible for equity, comprehensive benefits, 401k, and flexible time off.

What you will do

• Set the testing strategy and quality bar for the hirify.global app and internal content and administration tools.
• Architect and build reliable automated UI, API, mobile, and integration test frameworks and suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Review requirements, specifications, and pull requests early; define acceptance criteria with product and design; and support release planning and certification.
• Monitor release health, triage and document defects, drive issues to resolution, and report coverage, flakiness, escaped defects, and release stability metrics.
• Manage and direct the offshore QA team, shifting its work toward automation and higher-value testing.
• Use AI-assisted tooling for test creation, maintenance, and analysis, and contribute to Android, iOS, backend, or web feature development as the role grows.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, SDET, or QA automation engineer.
• Strong programming skills in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience building test automation frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience testing mobile applications on iOS and/or Android.
• Experience leading QA efforts and owning release readiness, ideally with distributed or offshore teams.
• Comfort using AI-assisted tools in testing and development workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with a consumer subscription or mobile application at scale.
• Hands-on development experience in a mobile, backend, or web codebase.
