Payroll Lead

Location: Remote, United Shirify.globals; company location in Columbia, Maryland

Pay range: $90,000–$100,000 USD per year; eligible for a discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Own and manage end-to-end payroll processing, including wages, deductions, bonuses, adjustments, schedules, deadlines, and reporting.
• Review payroll data, resolve discrepancies and complex tax or employee issues, and maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, shirify.global, and local regulations, company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support internal and external audits, monitor payroll law changes, and implement required updates.
• Guide and train payroll staff, collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders, and support cross-functional payroll alignment.
• Improve payroll accuracy and efficiency while supporting the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of payroll systems and tools.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of payroll processing or payroll administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and compliance standards.
• Experience with payroll platforms such as ADP, Workday, or similar systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, collaborate across teams, and support continuous process improvement.
• Advanced competencies in communication, planning and organizing, compliance, teamwork and collaboration, and problem solving.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Experience supporting multi-shirify.global and/or international payroll operations.
• Experience with ERP or HRIS systems integrated with payroll.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
