Data Scientist (Fintech)

A fully remote fintech and crypto product company building self-custody products for accessing open financial markets, tokenized assets, stablecoins, and other digital assets.

What you will do

• Analyze user journeys, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization to identify product opportunities.
• Design and evaluate A/B tests, including hypotheses, success metrics, guardrails, sample sizing, validity, and interpretation.
• Define and maintain product metrics, improve instrumentation with Engineering, and validate the underlying data.
• Build reusable analytical datasets and dbt models using SQL, collaborating on Snowflake, Dagster, and ETL pipelines.
• Use Python for statistical analysis, modeling, automation, and reproducible documentation.
• Lead ambiguous analytical problems from initial questions through recommendations and measurement, influencing Product, Engineering, Design, and Growth priorities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, or a related field, with a demonstrated record of influencing product decisions.
• Strong knowledge of probability, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, regression, bias, confounding, and the assumptions and limitations of statistical methods.
• Practical experience designing and analyzing A/B tests, including metrics, statistical power, experiment validity, and translating results into decisions.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong proficiency in Python for data exploration, statistical analysis, and reproducible analytical workflows.
• Working knowledge of dbt, data modeling, and modern data platforms, including how orchestration, ETL dependencies, and refresh schedules affect analysis.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor, with the ability to verify correctness and maintain code quality.
• Experience partnering directly with product teams, ideally on consumer products, to improve activation, engagement, retention, or monetization.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems independently, prioritize work, and communicate recommendations to technical and nontechnical partners.
• Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn unfamiliar systems and follow through on useful work.

Nice to have

• Experience working with Snowflake, including querying large datasets and understanding query performance and cost.
• Experience with crypto, tokenized assets, finance, or fintech.
