Senior Data Scientist, Product (Fintech)

Location: Palo Alto, California, United States; hybrid work with in-office collaboration and remote work

Base salary: $185,000–$225,000

What you will do

• Drive strategic data science initiatives and identify high-value opportunities with executive leadership.
• Lead end-to-end machine learning projects from problem formulation through production deployment, including model development, validation, A/B testing, and performance monitoring.
• Solve business problems involving fraud risk assessment, underwriting, and customer segmentation.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Risk, and Leadership to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and communicate insights.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, conduct code reviews, and establish scalable data science practices.
• Lead experimentation strategy, own A/B testing frameworks, and translate results into product improvements and business impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related fields.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation, modeling, and automation.
• Experience building production-ready models and pipelines.
• Strong statistical knowledge and experience designing experiments, including A/B testing, cohort analysis, and causal inference.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in at least one of the following domains: risk, growth/marketing, or product analytics.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment where collaboration and flexibility are essential.
