Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid; employees must be available to work from a US office hub at least two days per week or eight days per month. Hubs include Austin, TX; New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; and the Washington, DC metro area.

Base salary: $180,000–$225,000 for New York City and San Francisco; $160,000–$200,000 for all other locations. Base salary excludes equity, applicable sales bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do

• Connect product, partner, and business data to build metrics and reporting that demonstrate value for enterprise customers.
• Design and maintain data models and governed metric definitions for internal analysis, customer-facing reporting, and AI-powered tools.
• Partner with engineering to support reliable measurement and design experiments using causal inference and power analysis.
• Build and deploy predictive models for engagement, retention, and customer health.
• Build systems for evaluating AI models and tools using automated metrics and human review, including quality, safety, and consistency measurement.
• Investigate changes in metrics, provide recommendations to teams and leadership, build AI-assisted internal tools, mentor analysts and data scientists, and support projects across product, sales, marketing, and finance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics. Experience with B2B SaaS or enterprise products is preferred within this requirement.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with modern data tooling, including dbt, a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks, and a semantic or metrics layer.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling and defining metrics used by other teams.
• Experimentation and causal inference skills, including experiment design and power analysis.
• Experience building and deploying predictive models with a pragmatic approach to model complexity.
• Experience evaluating ML or LLM-powered systems.
• Fluency with AI tools and agentic coding workflows, such as Claude Code or Cursor, and interest in scaling AI-native ways of working.
• Ability to explain complex results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, with an owner’s mindset and comfort with ambiguity in 0-to-1 work.

Nice to have

• Experience with NLP or unstructured text data.
• Familiarity with LLM evaluation methods such as LLM-as-a-judge, golden datasets, and human review loops.
• Experience with privacy-preserving data practices, such as de-identification.
• Experience with behavioral or product analytics tools such as Amplitude.
