General Supervisor: Slip & Glaze

Location: Juárez, NL, Mexico; onsite.

What you will do

• Supervise laboratory, slip, and glaze operations to meet production schedules, acceptance standards, engineering specifications, and budget targets.
• Monitor production performance, costs, labor, expenses, and supply requirements, taking corrective action or recommending productivity and quality improvements.
• Coordinate with production supervision and maintenance personnel on defective ware, equipment maintenance, workflow, and operational issues.
• Lead subordinate supervisors and indirectly supervise hourly workers, defining responsibilities and communicating goals and expectations.
• Support operating objectives, budgets, forecasts, material and labor planning, and local sourcing of raw materials and supplies.
• Develop training procedures with the training area and ensure health and safety matters are communicated and addressed promptly.

Requirements

• Preference for a bachelor’s degree.
• Preference for two to four years of work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Preference for knowledge of ceramic engineering and kiln operation.
• Preference for knowledge of ISO and Six Sigma.
• Preference for knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based software applications.
• Ability to supervise Ceramic Engineers, Foremen, a Senior Technician, and a Laboratory Technician, and to work with production, personnel, security, maintenance, vendors, and other departments.

• Preferred English language knowledge.
• Preferred bachelor’s degree, manufacturing or industrial experience, ceramic engineering and kiln operation knowledge, ISO and Six Sigma knowledge, and Microsoft Windows-based software knowledge.
