Director, Manufacturing Operations (Medical Technology)

Location: Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico; onsite manufacturing role.

What you will do

• Lead long-range strategic planning and manage manufacturing operations to meet volume, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Develop, evaluate, and improve production methods, equipment utilization, assembly processes, tooling, materials, manpower planning, and scrap control.
• Manage production activities through subordinate managers, including operating objectives, budgets, action plans, staffing, performance evaluations, training, and succession planning.
• Lead R&D and manufacturing activities related to new product introduction, product transfers, expansions, engineering concepts, customer requirements, and production launches.
• Drive continuous improvement projects with Operational Excellence and monitor operational metrics, quality, value, security, service, and cost objectives.
• Establish and authorize SOPs, production standards, BOMs, routings, test equipment, preventive-maintenance setups, packaging, drawings, pilot tests, and control plans while collaborating with corporate functions.

Requirements

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or Electronic Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a Manager or Director of Engineering in a high-volume assembly industry, with extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Advanced English fluency sufficient for project presentations and participation in negotiations.
• Knowledge of administration and budget control, Lean Manufacturing tools, Six Sigma, project management, supply chain, reengineering, and MTM.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in senior management or managerial administration.
• Experience in the medical industry.
