Customs Operations Specialist (U.S. Customs)

Location: Hybrid (remote/office) in Querétaro, Mexico.

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day U.S. import document review activities and analyze the causes of customs documentation issues.
• Drive improvement actions with internal partners and staff and support cross-functional trade documentation projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers and build partnerships with U.S. business areas.
• Support compliant and financially optimized use of U.S. customs programs, including Temporary Import Bonds, Chapter 98, and Carnets.
• Review documentation for FDA, EPA, AD/CVD, Sections 201, 301, and 232, and Free Trade Agreement requirements.
• Ensure compliance with ISF transactions, ISF information filing, and record retention requirements.

Requirements

• 2+ years of extensive experience in customs or international trade compliance. A Bachelor’s or Associate Degree is required, or a High School Diploma combined with relevant years of experience.
• Experience with Global Trade Management technology or ERP systems such as SAP GTS, SAP GTM, or other global trade management software.
• Excellent knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, U.S. tariff classification, the General Rules of Interpretation, and customs activities.
• Project skills covering analytics, implementation strategies, metric measurement, continuous monitoring, and deliverables.
• Ability to work independently, with strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• High-level English proficiency is required, including strong verbal and written communication, comprehension of complex instructions, and participation in professional discussions with colleagues and customers.
