  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, stakeholders, and clients to manage risks, prioritize work, present recommendations, and guide implementation.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of professional experience designing digital products or services, with ownership of UX/UI work from discovery through implementation.
  • Experience planning and conducting qualitative user research, usability testing, and synthesis of findings.
  • Ability to translate research findings into actionable design recommendations and product improvements.
  • Proficiency with Figma or comparable design and prototyping tools.
  • Strong understanding of visual design, interaction design, information architecture, and responsive web design.

  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
  • Ability to communicate design decisions, present recommendations, incorporate feedback, and independently manage priorities across multiple workstreams.
  • Portfolio demonstrating thoughtful design decisions, problem-solving, and completed digital product work.
  • Advanced proficiency in the required skills, with the ability to perform independently.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, communicate effectively by phone, email, and in person, travel occasionally, and perform occasional light lifting up to 10 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Experience with public-sector, civic technology, mission-driven, workforce development, education, career exploration, or data-informed digital products.
  • Experience establishing user research strategies, especially where research practices are still developing.

  • Familiarity with Section 508, WCAG, design systems, reusable component libraries, Agile, Jira, and Confluence.
