Sr. Product Designer (Remote)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; required travel within the U.S. up to 2 times per year for in-person team and all-company meetings, with possible additional travel approximately 2–4 times annually.

Starting salary: $109,000–$129,700 per year.

What you will do

• Partner with Product and Engineering to define user and business problems, shape product strategy, and connect design work to measurable outcomes.
• Build expertise in AAC, assistive technology, users, clinical workflows, products, data, and the competitive landscape.
• Plan and lead interviews, observation, co-design, concept testing, and usability testing with people with communication challenges, care partners, clinicians, customers, and internal experts.
• Synthesize research, product data, business goals, and technical constraints into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Design accessible, intuitive, and consistent user flows, prototypes, interaction models, and polished experiences across device, web, and mobile products.
• Use AI, iterative testing, implementation partnership, post-launch learning, and shared design systems to reduce risk and improve product quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product design experience, including meaningful ownership of complex digital products from discovery through delivery and iteration.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong problem framing, strategic thinking, and design skills.
• Experience planning and facilitating user research and collaborative discovery sessions and translating findings into actionable product direction.
• Strong interaction design, information architecture, prototyping, and visual design skills across web, mobile, or device-based experiences.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, influence product direction, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional partners.
• Ability to explain design rationale, challenge assumptions constructively, incorporate feedback, and make thoughtful tradeoffs.
• Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools; strong knowledge of accessibility principles and WCAG 2.1 or later.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, collaboration, problem-solving, time management, and attention-to-detail skills; self-starter who takes ownership and follows through.
• Bachelor’s degree in HCI, interaction design, or a related field preferred, or equivalent education and practical experience; must be able to work remotely within the U.S. and travel within the U.S. as required.
