Director of Product Design (AI)

Location: United States; remote and hybrid remote work

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop product designers while establishing ownership, design standards, and collaboration practices.
• Define a portfolio-wide UX vision and create shared patterns and consistent experiences across products.
• Own the evolution and adoption of scalable design systems, reusable components, interaction patterns, and accessible design practices with Engineering.
• Lead research and usability validation with association staff, administrators, members, implementation partners, and other users.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to modernize complex workflows, simplify experiences, and reduce customer friction.
• Establish discovery, rapid prototyping, customer validation, design handoff, evidence-based prioritization, and AI-assisted design practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in digital product design, including 3+ years leading designers or design teams.
• Experience modernizing complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software products with substantial workflows, configurations, and user roles.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating user research, interaction design, information architecture, and measurable product outcomes.
• Deep hands-on proficiency with Figma and UXPin or comparable enterprise design and prototyping tools, including component libraries, interactive prototypes, design systems, and developer handoff.
• Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted design and rapid prototyping tools such as Claude, Lovable, or similar tools.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, mentor designers, and balance speed, consistency, accessibility, and customer needs.
• Experience with association management, membership, nonprofit, CRM, or enterprise administrative software.
• Experience designing across multiple acquired products or shared platform components.
• Experience integrating AI-generated prototypes with existing design systems, production UI components, and engineering workflows.
