Software Engineer - New Grad, Distributed Data Systems (2027 Start)

Location: Bellevue, Washington, or Mountain View, California, United States

Salary: $145,000–$155,000 USD annually for Zone 1; $137,750–$147,450 USD annually for Zone 2. Total compensation may also include an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and operate distributed data and AI infrastructure for the Lakehouse platform.
• Work on query compilation and optimization, distributed query execution and scheduling, and vectorized execution.
• Develop capabilities for data security, resource management, and transaction coordination.
• Design efficient storage structures, including encodings and indexes, and improve physical data organization automatically.
• Contribute to the data plane storage and storage management systems.

Requirements

• Graduate in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
• Implementation skills in a general-purpose programming language such as Java or C++.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming principles.
• Passion for database systems, storage systems, distributed systems, language design, or performance optimization.
• Experience managing projects end to end.
