Senior Gameplay Designer (Cyberpunk)

Location: Onsite in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, or fully remote from the United States or Canada. US remote work is available only to candidates residing in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin. Relocation assistance is available for US-based candidates.

Estimated base pay: $112,200–$185,100 annually.

CD Projekt RED creates story-driven role-playing games and is developing Cyberpunk 2, the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and iterate on gameplay features, mechanics, abilities, and core gameplay systems for Cyberpunk 2.
• Propose innovative designs aligned with the game direction.
• Analyze, pitch, prototype, develop, and balance moment-to-moment gameplay.
• Collaborate across disciplines and refine designs using internal and external feedback.
• Stay current with game genres, design methods, techniques, and audio-visual trends.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in the AAA game industry in a game design role.
• Proven success creating compelling and innovative gameplay mechanics.
• Experience developing shooters, open-world, role-playing, and/or action games.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and evolving project needs.
• Willingness to experiment and commitment to high-quality work.
• Positive and collaborative approach that contributes to a friendly and supportive team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unreal Engine 4 and/or 5.
• Experience working across multiple stages of AAA game production.
• Deep knowledge of CD Projekt RED games and other narrative or role-playing-focused games.
• Passion for the cyberpunk genre and games.
