Vegetation Management & Forestry, Senior Specialist

Location: Monrovia, California, US. Hybrid work mode with required reporting to an SCE facility for a set number of days and remote work on remaining days. Employees are required to work and reside in California unless otherwise noted. The role requires up to 70% travel and field work throughout the SCE service territory.

Salary: $99,400–$149,100 per year.

What you will do

• Perform contractor field safety and environmental observations, enforce tree-trimming safety actions and environmental requirements, and provide feedback on corrective actions.
• Facilitate contractor calibration and orientation sessions focused on SCE expectations, wildfire-risk reduction, customer service, work quality, and emerging trends.
• Perform Post Work Verification for pre-inspection and tree-trimming work, identify quality issues, and assign contractor rework after passing the required Personnel Qualification Standard.
• Support annual work plans, contract resource planning, schedule adherence, operational cost and performance monitoring, and review of contractor safety and billing documentation.
• Investigate tree-related outages, determine root causes, and document and communicate findings to first-line supervision.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and primary contact for utility vegetation management programs and regulations while coordinating with internal stakeholders, contractors, customers, public agencies, and government entities.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in vegetation management.
• ISA Certified Arborist certification.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Ability to perform required field safety, environmental observation, Post Work Verification, contractor coordination, and vegetation management duties.
• Ability to protect company assets and properly access and manage private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other sensitive information.

Nice to have

• ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ).
• ISA Utility Specialist certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in forestry, arboriculture, or business.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Eight years of experience managing a Utility Vegetation Management program.
