Billing Associate - US Remote

Location: Remote in the United States

Salary: $45,000–$55,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Manage customer billing, invoicing, and new account setup across multiple entities.
• Review contracts to ensure accurate billing and interpret complex billing requirements.
• Research billing discrepancies, resolve customer inquiries, and process credits.
• Respond to billing and finance requests through Zendesk or similar platforms.
• Prepare monthly billing reports using Excel and AI tools.
• Identify process improvements and support special projects and annual audits.

Requirements

• 3+ years of billing or related experience.
• Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and XLOOKUP.
• Ability to interpret contracts and manage complex billing requirements.
• Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, independent decision-making, customer service, and communication skills.
• Ability to learn and navigate multiple systems, with strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently or with a team.
• Willingness to learn and use AI tools in daily workflows.

Nice to have

• SaaS or subscription-based billing experience.
• NetSuite experience, or familiarity with Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Zuora, or Chargebee.
• Experience with Salesforce and Zendesk.
• Associate degree or higher.
• Technical support experience, particularly with troubleshooting, analytical, and software navigation skills.
