Principal Hardware Engineer

Annual base salary: CAD 114,400.00–CAD 183,000.00

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deliver ultra-high-performance electronic products.
• Own all aspects of electrical hardware design, including BOM creation, vendor negotiation support, circuit and board design, development, and validation.
• Manage product development from inception through volume production and continue ownership through customer trials, field issues, and product sustaining.
• Collaborate with Hardware, ASIC, Signal, Mechanical, Thermal, Diagnostic, Packaging, and Manufacturing engineers.
• Interact extensively with partner engineering teams on joint development programs.
• Provide technical leadership to a small design team when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 12+ years of related experience.
• Experience with large, high-powered SoCs based on advanced silicon and packaging process technologies, including 2D, 2.5D, and 2.5D with 3D memories.
• Experience using precision scopes, analyzers, and development and validation tools.
• Experience addressing power and thermal issues in PCBs with 1kW+ footprints.
• Experience with high-speed and high-density signaling with 112G+ SerDes rates.
• Demonstrated lifecycle product ownership of complex products, including participation in cross-functional teams from product inception to volume production.
• Experience working with Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Compliance, Safety, and Sustainability groups.

• Experience leading a small team or proven technical mentoring experience with high-speed hardware designers.
