Principal Product Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Lead complex projects and programmes for priority clients, ensuring alignment with business objectives, quality standards, timelines, budgets, and profitability.
• Act as a product subject matter expert, including leading Service Assessments for Central Government clients.
• Manage product teams or operate in solo consultative and coaching roles for large, complex, high-risk programmes.
• Champion agile ways of working, product thinking, continuous improvement, and responsible, governed AI adoption.
• Lead the Product and Delivery community, contribute to standards and best practices, and support the AI Delivery Group.
• Manage people, client relationships, commercial activity, pre-sales, bids, proposals, and account growth.

Requirements

• Principal-level product management experience capable of leading complex, high-risk, or sensitive programmes with high autonomy.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across digital, data, design, User-Centred Design, and Technology capabilities.
• Ability to manage complex project and programme budgets, meet financial targets, and maintain profitability through value-aligned product choices.
• Ability to address complex project and programme issues and risks and provide professional coaching and problem-solving support.
• Ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders, clients, partners, and Growth, Tech, Marketing, and Commercial teams.
• Ability to support pre-sales, account management, project commercials, bids, proposals, and tender writing.
• Current understanding of digital government trends, including the responsible use of AI in public services, is a significant benefit.
