Senior Cloud Engineering Lead

Location: New York City, United States. Hybrid role requiring work in an assigned hirify.global office 2–3 days per week or as needed; this role is not remote. Candidates must have permanent U.S. work authorization and be authorized to work in the U.S. by any employer. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and eligibility. Travel: 10%.

Annual base salary: $139,100–$231,900. Eligible for a 17.5% bonus target and share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of secure, scalable, automated multi-cloud solutions.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption using Terraform, OpenTofu, Spacelift, Python, and Pulumi.
• Lead and mentor a technical team of 3–5 cloud engineers, including coaching and professional development.
• Create cloud design patterns and promote reusable patterns in partnership with development teams.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers, developers, and product teams to build cloud-native capabilities and standards.
• Serve as an escalation point for operational issues, support on-call engineering when needed, and drive continuous improvement and automation-first practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure roles, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role managing or leading engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform—AWS, GCP, or Azure—with familiarity across multiple cloud providers.
• Strong experience building and deploying cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi.
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language; Python is strongly preferred for automation and tooling.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence horizontally and vertically across a large, complex, matrixed organization.
• Ability to manage priorities, identify high-business-value outcomes, coach and mentor engineers, and deliver customer value at the speed required by the business.
• Experience integrating application hosting needs with cloud infrastructure to build secure, well-architected solutions.

Nice to have

• Multi-cloud experience across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Expert-level experience building, maintaining, and deploying Infrastructure as Code solutions in a DevOps environment.
• Experience with Spacelift or similar IaC automation platforms.
• Configuration management experience using Ansible or similar tools.
• Experience qualifying cloud services for GxP or other highly regulated environments.
• Cross-functional experience across cloud infrastructure, security, networking, and application development.
• Contributions to open-source cloud tooling or infrastructure projects.
• Relevant cloud certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional, or Azure Solutions Architect.
