Senior Proposals Manager (Construction)

Salary: £60,000–£80,000 per annum

An established construction business strengthening its pre-construction function and proposals capability.

What you will do

• Own and manage the complete bid lifecycle from opportunity assessment through final submission and post-bid review.
• Lead, coach and develop the proposals team while driving innovation and continuous improvement.
• Develop bid strategies, conduct research, facilitate win/loss workshops, and coordinate bid kick-off meetings.
• Work with the Pre-Construction Director, delivery teams and management teams to prioritise workloads and allocate resources.
• Coordinate internal and external resources, including graphics and visualisations, to strengthen submissions.
• Oversee proposals, prequalification questionnaires, expressions of interest and tender interview documentation, ensuring technical accuracy, quality and timely delivery.
• Maintain project profiles, staff CVs and company information, and lead post-bid reviews to identify improvements.
• Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 quality, environmental, and health and safety standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing bids or proposals within the construction or pre-construction sector.
• Strong understanding of the full bid lifecycle, from opportunity assessment through to submission.
• Experience developing bid strategies and coordinating technical input from multiple stakeholders.
• Previous experience leading, coaching or mentoring team members.
• Excellent written communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy and presentation.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver submissions to strict deadlines.
