Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Austin, Texas office with remote work available within Texas.

Salary: $167,149–$190,000 per year.

What you will do

• Code, test, analyze, and review software for accuracy, functionality, performance, and security.
• Drive the software development life cycle, define sprint goals, maintain operational stability, and lead product launches.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.
• Communicate technical plans and solutions to executives, cross-functional teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other teams to align solutions with business and regulatory objectives.
• Document architecture, create developer guides, and support knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or a foreign equivalent.
• 7 years of experience as a Java developer and 6 years of experience in Java Enterprise software development.
• 5 years of experience with Java, JVM memory and performance tuning, Lambdas, Generics, and data structures including Map, List, and Set.
• 5 years of experience with Spring Framework or an equivalent framework.
• 5 years of experience with commonly used design patterns and advanced algorithm design for high-throughput systems.
• 4 years of experience with concurrent programming, such as the Actor Model, Java CompletableFuture, and thread pool Executors, for real-time transaction systems.
• 4 years of experience with Hibernate or equivalent JPA frameworks and query performance optimization.
• 4 years of experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, DB2, or MS SQL, and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB.
• 2 years of experience ensuring compliance in software development.
• 3 years of experience leading cross-functional teams or mentoring engineers in a fintech environment.
