Transactional Financial Controller (NetSuite)

Location: Hybrid, based in London, United Kingdom; line management responsibility for a team based in London and Porto, with hybrid and remote arrangements.

What you will do

• Manage the Accounts Payable, Billing, and Credit Control functions, including team leadership, prioritisation, quality control, and escalation handling.
• Oversee banking and expense transactions, working capital management, payment runs, aged debt review, DSO performance, and cash collection targets.
• Implement and manage the Purchase Order system end-to-end while ensuring compliance and efficient processing.
• Line-manage direct reports in Portugal and London and provide operational oversight across the UK, Portugal, Germany, and Spain.
• Drive finance systems automation and process improvement, including NetSuite integrations, billing and AP workflows, invoice validation, credit management, supplier remittances, and customer communications.
• Support the Source-to-Procure rollout, reporting alignment, systems governance, access controls, segregation of duties, audit requirements, and collaboration with Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience managing a team, delegating effectively, and developing five direct reports.
• Ability to build relationships and influence Finance, Technology, Product, and wider business stakeholders.
• Strong proficiency with NetSuite, Salesforce, Moss, Precoro, Abacum, and banking tools.
• Solid grounding in financial operations, accounting, finance principles, financial controls, and reporting.
• Ability to troubleshoot system issues and implement effective solutions.
• High accuracy in managing data integrity and financial records.
• Understanding of databases and ability to analyse processes and data flows to optimise system performance.
• High proficiency in Claude and Gemini.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing system implementations, upgrades, or process improvement projects, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple scopes.
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification, with strong grounding in financial controls and reporting.
