Head of Commercial Finance (Fintech)

What you will do

• Build and own a driver-based financial model linking clients, assets under administration, flows, revenue margin, cost per client, P&L, balance sheet, cash, and regulatory capital.
• Create department budgets and P&Ls, assign budget holders, and review monthly performance and variances.
• Build product P&Ls and unit economics covering revenue per client, cost to serve, CAC, LTV, payback, contribution margin, and marketing channel performance.
• Develop business cases for new features and launches, then track performance against actuals.
• Provide leaders with self-serve access to P&Ls, KPIs, scenarios, and dashboards; prepare investor due diligence materials and Board KPI dashboards.
• Own the 13-week cash forecast, runway view, and inputs to ICARA and going-concern assessments.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in FP&A or commercial finance is ideally expected.
• Experience in a product-led digital company is essential.
• Hands-on experience designing and running department and product P&Ls, including allocating shared costs.
• Strong driver-based modelling skills, with clear and auditable models that others can use.
• Experience building business cases and working with Marketing on channel economics.
• Ability to challenge senior leaders on assumptions and spend without line authority.
• Ability to turn analysis into concise recommendations for non-finance leaders and the Board.
• Comfort with dashboards, automation, and AI for analysis.
• English fluency at C1 level or above is required.

Nice to have

• Financial services, fintech, or investment platform experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience preparing models and KPIs for investors or due diligence.
• Xero or strong experience with comparable systems.
• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification, either qualified or part-qualified.
