Financial Controller

Location: Fully remote within the UK.

hirify.global operates an online cybersecurity training platform with more than 8 million users across businesses and schools, and is a bootstrapped, profitable company with approximately 160 remote employees.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the month-end close, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, accrued liabilities, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, reconciliations, and internal reporting.
• Manage and develop the Accountant responsible for FinOps, including AR, AP, and cash coding, while building scalable quote-to-cash processes for B2C and B2B operations.
• Own the finance technology stack and build AI-first workflows in Claude, automating repeated processes and maintaining the Finance skills library.
• Drive cross-functional data integrity across HR, RevOps, Analytics, Stripe, PayPal, and Tableau/Hex by addressing root causes of reconciliation issues.
• Own financial controls and the annual audit from planning through reporting, working directly with auditors.
• Manage corporation tax, R&D claims, UK and international VAT, US sales tax, Companies House filings, statutory administration, and US entity compliance.

Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant; ACA preferred, with ACCA or CIMA considered, and 2+ years PQE.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally across both practice and industry.
• Startup or scale-up experience in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
• Experience with high-volume B2C subscription and/or B2B SaaS; experience with both is a strong plus.
• Strong foundation in accounting principles and best practice.
• Strong Excel and light modelling skills.
• Demonstrable AI use in finance work, including comfort building and running workflows in tools such as Claude.

• Payment processor experience with Stripe or PayPal.
