AI Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must reside in CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, MD, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OK, PA, SC, TX, or VA. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain AI-assisted development, automation, and decision-support capabilities aligned with business objectives and operational baselines.
• Integrate AI technologies across Salesforce/MuleSoft, Microsoft Power Platform/Dynamics, Pega, Box, and Appian, including platform-native features and API-based integrations.
• Apply AI-enabled code generation, automated testing, configuration recommendations, and code quality analysis within agile delivery teams.
• Lead enterprise AI integrations, validate performance, provide technical guidance, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Educate delivery teams on responsible, secure AI implementation, including protection of PII and PHI under HIPAA and VA privacy requirements.
• Support security and ATO documentation for AI components through architecture and security approval gates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Systems, Operations Research, or a related field, plus at least 7 years of relevant experience; 10 years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and maintaining AI capabilities in enterprise environments, including AI-assisted development, automation, or decision-support solutions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust background investigation.
• Available on contract award and willing to sign a letter of commitment.
• Must reside in one of the specified US states and be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating large language models or generative AI services in AWS or Azure for production use.
• Experience with AI features on Salesforce, Microsoft Power Platform, Pega, or Appian.
• Experience implementing AI in federal, healthcare, or other regulated environments, including FedRAMP or ATO processes.
• Proficiency in Python and modern MLOps or DevOps tooling, including GitHub.
