Company

hirify.global, through ecobee, develops connected-home products and sustainable energy solutions that improve comfort, efficiency, automation, and peace of mind for homes and businesses.

What you will do

  • Own and evolve the multi-year Professional Experience strategy, including target segments, customer problems, investment priorities, and roadmap sequencing.
  • Lead discovery and delivery across installation, first run, device linking, homeowner consent, fleet visibility and control, reliability, remote diagnostics, and service workflows.
  • Research HVAC professionals and channel dynamics through field research, segmentation, product data, competitive intelligence, advisory councils, and direct partner engagement.
  • Define the data and insight strategy, establish product-health reviews, and use metrics such as Pro CSAT, first-run completion time, and linking rate to evaluate outcomes.
  • Partner with Engineering and Design on workflows spanning thermostat firmware, mobile, cloud, web tools, and APIs, while managing cross-team dependencies.
  • Shape commercial models, business cases, monetization, launch strategy, channel enablement, executive narratives, and product-management practices; mentor PMs.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of relevant product management experience, with ownership of a product area spanning multiple adjacent products, experiences, or teams.
  • Experience defining multi-year product strategy in ambiguous environments and converting it into focused roadmaps, investment cases, and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-platform customer experiences involving connected hardware, firmware, mobile or web software, cloud services, data, and APIs.
  • Strong product discovery and customer-research skills, including selecting appropriate validation methods and evaluating uncertainty.
  • Commercial fluency covering market dynamics, segmentation, revenue and margin implications, platform reuse, partner economics, and monetization.
  • Data fluency and analytical rigor, including defining a North Star and operating KPIs, identifying instrumentation gaps, assessing product health, and using quantitative and qualitative evidence.
  • Technical credibility with engineering teams and the ability to reason about system constraints, data access and consent, integrations, reliability, security, and platform trade-offs.
  • Executive communication and influence, including building concise narratives, aligning leaders, and taking clear positions in ambiguous decisions.
  • Self-starting, low-ego leadership; ability to create clarity, build trust, mentor others, and engage in difficult conversations.
  • A background check is required after hiring.

Nice to have

  • Experience with professional, B2B, channel, fleet-management, field-service, HVAC, connected-home, or partner-platform products is strongly valued.

  • Accrued paid time off, paid holidays, and retirement benefits including RRSP in Canada and 401(k) in the USA.

Hiring process

  • 30-minute phone call with Talent Acquisition.
  • 45-minute Hiring Manager interview and 1-hour team interview covering technical, behavioural, and situational questions.
