Business Development Analyst (AI Pharma)

Location: Boston, MA or New York, NY; primarily the New York City and Boston metro areas with a hybrid model requiring 3 days per week in office. Applicants from the Research Triangle, NC, and San Francisco Bay Area may also be considered. Candidates must reside in these locations or be willing to relocate.

Total compensation: $106,000–$132,500, including base salary, equity, comprehensive benefits, and perks.

What you will do

• Conduct financial and strategic analysis, market research, and financial modeling to support investment recommendations.
• Model clinical development activities, potential commercial launch trajectories, and revenue projections to inform investment theses.
• Source and evaluate novel drug development ideas and acquisition targets using public databases, pharmaceutical development databases, and market research reports.
• Build investment theses through PowerPoint presentations and Excel models, and present recommendations to senior management.
• Support transactions through due diligence, valuation, deal structuring, negotiations, and closing in partnership with senior Business Development members.
• Support broader strategic initiatives, including applications of AI to asset sourcing and diligence, with the Leadership Team.

Requirements

• Familiarity with key business, scientific, and medical aspects of drug development.
• Experience writing research reports and/or presentations and delivering presentations that integrate multiple data sources.
• Expertise in quantitative analysis and modeling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, R&D, finance, and other functions.
• 2–4 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry; consulting or corporate strategy experience is preferred, and financial institutions are also considered.
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in biology or a related scientific field.
