Specialist, Operations Project Engineer, NPI (Aerospace)

Location: Waterdown, Ontario, Canada; travel to the Don Mills location may be required.

Salary: CAD 92,000–120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead NPI and operations projects for IRAD-funded, customer-funded NRE, and non-standard product configurations.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, estimates, ETCs, and Earned Value Management reporting in JIRA.
• Coordinate Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Production, Quality, EH&S, Design, Supply Chain, and Program Management stakeholders.
• Assess manufacturability and scalability, facilitate operational readiness reviews, and prepare design stage-gate packages covering progress, risks, and CapEx.
• Track product targets including hours per unit, material and labor costs, lead time, and yield; lead DFx activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Present project status and risks to cross-functional and senior leadership, resolve technical issues, and coach junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 2 years of related experience; in lieu of a degree, at least 8 years of related experience.
• Proficient knowledge of the relevant job area and practical project management knowledge.
• Project management experience in a high-tech environment, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of operations and manufacturing environments, current and advanced manufacturing processes and technologies, and MRP systems.
• Strong organizational, planning, analytical, critical-thinking, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and MS Project, plus project management tools and Confluence/JIRA.
• Ability to lead technical issue closure, challenge the status quo, develop innovative operational solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
• Experience presenting to executive or senior leadership and collaborating effectively with diverse cross-functional stakeholders.
• Compliance with the company Quality Management System and AS9100; eligibility for registration with the Controlled Goods Program and a positive security assessment are required.

• PMP certification.
• P.Eng. license.
• Lean Greenbelt or Six Sigma certification.
