Senior Technical Leader (Space & Defense)

Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; onsite role with occasional travel to support new customers and product introduction.

Salary: $114,200–$152,300 annually.

hirify.global operates within Teledyne Digital Imaging, which designs, develops, manufactures, and researches high-performance CMOS and CCD image sensors and modular cameras for aerospace, defense, machine vision, surveillance, manufacturing inspection, medical imaging, and other applications.

What you will do

• Lead the overall technical success of one or more custom and semi-custom image sensor, focal plane array, and camera projects for airborne and space applications.
• Ensure final products meet customer specifications and manage and mitigate technical risks.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including sensor, electronics, mechanical design, process engineering, and test specialists.
• Coordinate with project management and Teledyne groups including manufacturing, purchasing, and CMOS development.
• Provide customers with technical guidance supported by subject-matter experts and drive technology development and change.
• Prepare and revise technical reports and project documentation while managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Requirements

• Broad knowledge of systems engineering, process engineering, electronics design, mechanical design, and optics.
• Understanding of semiconductor theory and CMOS image sensors.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturability and Reliability engineering.
• At least 8 years of related engineering, electronics, sensors, optics, or software experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience.
• At least 5 years of design and development experience.
• Strong, proven experience leading or managing technical projects and driving technology development.
• Proven experience working within a large multidisciplinary team, with excellent verbal and written communication skills; report writing is essential.
• Experience evaluating risk, driving change, preparing and revising technical reports and project documents, and providing customers with technical guidance.
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines, work independently, and contribute as a strong team player.
• Eligibility for Controlled Goods Security Clearance.
