Senior Backend Developer (.NET) in the EU

Location: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, or The Netherlands. Fully remote, office-based, or hybrid work is available.

Salary: EUR 3,050–4,550 gross per month. Additional annual bonus of up to EUR 1,000 per month may be available depending on expertise and participation in company activities.

What you will do

• Design and build .NET 8 microservices using FastEndpoints and Clean Architecture across Domain, Application, Infrastructure, and API layers.
• Implement Temporal workflow orchestration with typed workflow and activity interfaces, cross-task-queue dispatch, and signal/query patterns.
• Build rules evaluation integrations with the GoRules ZEN engine and develop platform capabilities including configuration registry, rules API, workflow gateway, payment adapters, and policy adapters.
• Implement service-to-service authorization and cross-cutting concerns using Managed Identity, Cerbos, Serilog, and Anotar.
• Write unit and integration tests with xUnit, FakeItEasy, and Shouldly, including tests against real dependencies and databases without mocked databases.
• Collaborate with platform and domain teams on API contracts, OpenAPI specifications, and shared NuGet libraries.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience with C# and .NET, including strong hands-on experience with .NET 8.
• Experience designing and developing microservices, with a strong understanding of Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and layered architecture.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous processing, including system design, transactions, concurrency, idempotency, and error handling.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure and strong experience with Entity Framework Core.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Experience with Docker and containerized development.
• Ability to independently and quickly learn new technologies and libraries.
• Willingness to study project-specific libraries before the technical interview.
• Intermediate+ English or above.

Nice to have

• Experience with Temporal workflow orchestration and the Temporal .NET SDK.
• Experience with FastEndpoints, GoRules ZEN, JDM, ZEN expressions, Cerbos, and JSONata .NET.
• Experience with Azure Key Vault, Managed Identity, Blob Storage, and Application Insights.
• Experience with xUnit, FakeItEasy, Shouldly, Podman, and Podman Compose.
• Experience with ASP.NET Core Minimal APIs, Kafka, event-driven architecture, SOAP/WCF integrations, and Result/Maybe patterns.
