Senior Associate - Corporate Finance - Transaction Advisory

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid work arrangement; willingness to travel up to 25%; candidates must have the legal right to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Salary: $80,000–$135,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support buy-side and sell-side diligence engagements for Corporate Finance–Transaction Advisory client service teams.
• Perform quality of earnings, financial trend, working capital, benchmark, financial statement, business plan, and cash flow analyses.
• Identify purchase price adjustment issues and develop insights related to deal structuring and transaction value drivers.
• Delegate, supervise, and lead project activities while collaborating with BRG experts, other professional firms, and client stakeholders.
• Lead reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables.
• Contribute to marketing, client pitches, product and practice development, and client relationship building.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of work experience, ideally in consulting or professional services.
• Expertise in financial modeling and analysis, particularly in Excel, including three-statement financial models, cash flows, and scenario analyses.
• Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data and develop insights and recommendations from qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact with junior and senior team members, senior management, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Mature presence, empathy, intellectual curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and strong problem-solving and project-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands, and collaborate effectively.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial research tools such as Capital IQ and Bloomberg.
• Legal right to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

• MBA or CPA.
• CFA, CPA or equivalent certification, or technical/GAAP accounting expertise.
