Autonomy Engineering Specialist (C++/Embedded)

Location: Full-time onsite at the Irving, Texas office; relocation assistance is available; up to 10% travel required.

Salary: $128,470–$208,770 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, integrate, and test safety-critical embedded software for machine safety and autonomy applications.
• Develop embedded software features using C++, Linux, and GitHub.
• Implement and optimize radar- and camera-processing pipelines to improve performance and reliability.
• Debug, triage, and resolve issues across embedded software, sensor processing, and vehicle integration.
• Define, document, and execute validation plans for software functionality, quality, and deployment readiness.
• Collaborate with systems, machine, software, and validation teams on technical solutions and product requirements.

Requirements

• Knowledge of software product design and the ability to translate market requirements into software product designs.
• Experience with the architecture and design of major or multiple products, including evaluating software architecture alternatives and trade-offs.
• Strong C/C++ programming and software design skills for robust embedded software development.
• System-level design, troubleshooting, design reviews, and walkthroughs experience.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly using presentation, summarization, and simplification techniques.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities and prioritize time effectively.
• Knowledge of relevant technologies and ability to develop solutions to significant technical challenges.
• Experience with radar and camera data processing in embedded or machine application environments.
• Embedded systems knowledge, including CAN and Ethernet datalinks, plus experience using debugging tools, compilers, Git, and related development practices.

Nice to have

• Experience developing complex C++ software solutions, including design, development, and architecture.
• Leadership experience in communication, design reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Experience with software programming, product development quality practices, radar or camera systems, robotics, autonomous vehicles, sensors, or autonomy systems.
• Experience with NVIDIA toolsets, including CUDA, TensorRT, Drive, or Jetson.
• Experience with GStreamer and multimedia processing pipelines.
• Experience with C Test or GTest.
• Functional Safety or Safety of the Intended Functionality (SOTIF) experience.
