Software Developer (C/C++)

Location: Devens, MA, US; onsite work supporting Maritime and Land solutions for the U.S. Military.

Salary: $95,000–$125,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Develop software applications and products for maritime systems used on submarines and surface ships, unmanned ground vehicles, and other military platforms.
• Design new software subsystems and modify existing designs.
• Implement software communication protocols for internal and external subsystem communications.
• Integrate sensors and other payloads into new and existing products.
• Participate in software requirements, preliminary design, critical design, and software acceptance reviews.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, leverage AI to improve productivity, and deliver products supporting U.S. Military capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering plus at least 3 years of hands-on experience, or a master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent plus at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience developing C/C++ applications for microcontrollers.
• Knowledge and experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
• Flexibility, self-starting ability, and a desire to solve problems.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance if required.

Nice to have

• Experience developing C++ applications for Linux.
• Motor control software development experience.
• Experience with CAN, SPI, RS232, or I2C bus protocols.
• User interface development experience.
• Experience working with distributed architectures.
