Advanced Analytics Consultant (Healthcare)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid schedule with at least 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Base pay: $76,600–$138,500 annually, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Provide analytic support and consulting for HCSC’s largest commercial clients on population health, insurance, plan cost, and health drivers.
• Advise internal senior leaders and present findings to C-Suite stakeholders.
• Query internal and external data sources and develop meaningful healthcare insights from medical claims and related datasets.
• Lead analytic initiatives, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and translate business cases into customer or partner execution.
• Design and maintain standard data layers, coding standards, and documentation for organizational use cases.
• Troubleshoot analytic development challenges and help scale impactful client engagements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in healthcare services, statistical analysis, insurance industry economics, or a related field; or Master’s degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience; or 9 years of relevant experience without the specified degree.
• Highly proficient in querying a wide variety of internal and external data sources to generate meaningful insights.
• High proficiency in SQL, R, and Python.
• Ability to create dynamic, visually engaging dashboards using Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong business intelligence and ability to take a business case from inception through customer or partner execution.
• Experience leading an analytic initiative to success.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including communication with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong ability to champion initiatives and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree and 3 years of experience in healthcare analytics, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics, including 1 year analyzing medical claims data.
• Experience with Databricks.
• Experience with project management methodologies.
• Healthcare industry experience across payor, provider, pharmacy, public health, epidemiology, or related areas.
• Experience with version control and collaborative tools.
