Medical Economics Consultant (Healthcare Analytics)

hirify.global is hiring for a medical economics and healthcare analytics role supporting medical cost programs.

What you will do

• Provide strategic and tactical insights into emerging medical cost trends.
• Extract, summarize, and analyze large datasets using SAS, SQL, or similar tools.
• Assess strategic medical cost programs, project savings opportunities, and measure post-implementation savings.
• Develop business cases, savings estimates, and analyses of claim cost drivers and areas of opportunity.
• Create clear, concise, executive-ready presentations explaining analytical findings.
• Partner with matrixed departments and business stakeholders to develop analytical approaches and communicate outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Health, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or a related area.
• At least 5 years of experience in Medical Economics, Healthcare Analytics, Informatics, and/or Actuarial Services in the healthcare payer sector.
• Proven analytical ability to work independently and meet business timelines and outcomes.
• Strong technical data skills with SAS, SQL, R, Tableau, Excel, or similar tools.
• Strong coding background in R, R Shiny, Python, SQL, or similar technologies.
• Ability to communicate outcomes with business partners and develop approaches for breaking down strategic hypotheses.
• Experience in the healthcare industry and knowledge of emerging trends and challenges.
• Strong verbal communication and executive presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Business, Health, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or a related area.
• Experience building dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny.
