Strategic consultancy supporting UN agencies, NGOs, foundations and research institutions with insight, writing, design, video, translation, training and tools. Since 2011, more than 12,700 translation and editing projects have been delivered for UN and international development clients.

What you will do

• Edit reports, publications, campaigns and other content for a global audience, improving structure, emphasis, clarity and readability.
• Edit English reports on development issues for clarity, accuracy and nuance.
• Post-edit machine-translated and AI-generated content to publication standard.
• Check references and citations.
• Apply client style guides and terminology, including the UN Editorial Manual, UNTERM and client term bases.
• Run final checks in PerfectIt and provide feedback on the Robert computer-aided translation tool.

Requirements

• Native English with excellent English editing and writing skills.
• At least two years of experience as a freelance or in-house English editor.
• A university degree in a relevant field.
• A genuine love of the English language and an ability to craft compelling content.
• Good skills in MS Office and Google Docs, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technology.
• Reliability, flexibility and strong attention to detail, including the ability to meet client deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience editing development-related texts.
• Good working knowledge of a second language or experience translating into English.
• Curiosity about how AI is changing language work.
