Manager, Materials Control (HVAC)

Location: Memphis, TN, United States; onsite in manufacturing facilities with regular exposure to varying and extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, chemical fumes, sharp metal objects, and heavy forklift traffic.

What you will do

• Manage the receipt, inspection, storage, inventory levels, and usage of materials to maintain uninterrupted production flow.
• Coordinate materials planning with the Senior Manager, Inventory Control, supervisors, and other departments.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate the acquisition or movement of materials to meet production needs.
• Evaluate and improve materials management processes and policies.
• Lead, train, and coach Materials Control Supervisors and support effective team hiring, training, and coaching.
• Ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations and serve as an escalation point for complex operational and employee situations.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience, including 2 years in management; HVAC industry experience is required.
• Experience in materials management, inventory control, purchasing, or a similar role.
• Knowledge of materials management software and systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
• Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Ability to read small print and comprehend written information.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand and walk for 95% of workdays.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
• Eight years of related experience.
