Associate Applications Engineer (Signal Integrity)

Location: Burlington, Ontario, Canada; onsite customer support and approximately 10% travel required.

Base salary: CAD 70,000–75,000 per year.

What you will do

• Reproduce customer-reported issues in the laboratory, perform root cause analysis with senior engineer guidance, and communicate findings and next steps.
• Create technical customer collateral, including test reports, application notes, data sheet input, and design guide content.
• Support customer qualification testing through test procedures, data collection, result interpretation, technical inquiries, and remote debugging.
• Collaborate with field application engineers and sales teams on performance characterization, demonstrations, feasibility assessments, and pre-sales technical requests.
• Characterize and validate new products on evaluation boards and representative system environments, interpret data, and provide feedback for product development.
• Develop laboratory test setups and Python-based equipment automation; train field application engineers and sales teams and provide onsite customer support, demonstrations, conferences, and tradeshow support.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related discipline.
• No prior work experience is required.
• Familiarity with RF and signal integrity fundamentals, including exposure to VNA measurements through coursework, co-op, or project work.
• Knowledge of Python, or the ability to learn Python, to create equipment drivers for laboratory equipment control and automation.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Effective time management and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Co-op or internship experience in a laboratory or test environment.
• Exposure to Bit Error Rate Testers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.
