Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack (Repayments UX)

Location: Remote Poland; the majority of roles can be located anywhere in Poland. Remote-first work may occasionally require in-person work at an Affirm office, and all new hires attend an in-person onboarding experience.

Base pay: 308,000–428,000 zł annually. Additional equity may include $32,000–$48,000 in new-hire equity, a $10,000 annual refresh, and $0–$150,000 in reward equity; equity is not included in base pay.

What you will do

• Own and deliver quarterly team goals, lead engineers through ambiguous problems, and support delivery.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, trade-offs, and product decisions.
• Identify and resolve project, process, technology, and business issues.
• Support artifact operations and availability through metrics, escalation, keep-the-lights-on work, and on-call efforts.
• Set and improve code review and design standards, and promote quality through writing and technical talks.
• Develop engineering talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience developing and architecting mobile applications, preferably with declarative UI frameworks such as React Native.
• Experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems, with proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components using elegant, simple, and extensible designs.
• Ability to write high-quality, understandable, reusable code and make significant changes safely in a large codebase.
• Experience developing tools and practices that enable safe changes in large codebases.
• Proactive ownership of professional growth and active use of feedback from teammates, managers, and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.

Nice to have

• Experience developing and architecting mobile applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React Native.
