Full Stack Engineering Team Lead (GreenTech)

Location: Central London (Strand), United Kingdom; hybrid with 3 days onsite per week.

Salary: Up to £130,000 per year.

GreenTech company transforming the EV charging industry and building digital platforms for the customer journey from purchasing an EV charger through installation, with partnerships including Tesla, VW and Mercedes.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of full-stack engineers, including hiring, mentoring and performance reviews.
• Drive product delivery and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Remain hands-on across frontend and backend development, with a 70% leadership and 30% coding split.
• Modernise a Kotlin monolith into domain-driven services.
• Support the migration from Vue to Next.js.
• Champion practical, sustainable AI adoption across engineering and customer experiences.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and managing software engineering teams.
• Strong full-stack experience with React, Next.js and TypeScript, including 5+ years of React.js experience.
• Commercial backend experience with Kotlin, Java or Scala, including 3+ years of Kotlin experience and 3+ years of Java experience.
• Experience delivering scalable, production-grade software.
• Experience implementing AI initiatives and understanding where AI adds genuine value.
• Proactive, curious approach and comfort challenging the status quo.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka, DynamoDB, CI/CD and Datadog.
