FP&A Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid, UK — London, York, or Colchester

What you will do

• Own monthly performance analysis for material areas of the UK Retail P&L, including management expenses and headcount.
• Develop forward-looking financial insight, identify risks and opportunities, and translate complex data into actionable narratives for senior stakeholders.
• Support UK Leadership Team, QBR, and other senior forum reporting.
• Own significant elements of forecasting, reforecasting, and budgeting, including assumption-setting and commercial challenge.
• Lead cost, efficiency, change, option analysis, and benefits-tracking initiatives.
• Improve FP&A processes, controls, reporting, standardisation, and automation while collaborating with Group Finance and UK Financial Reporting.

Requirements

• Professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, together with strong FP&A experience in planning, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Experience within general insurance and the ability to apply this knowledge quickly in the role.
• Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and deliver insight that informs decision-making.
• Excellent analytical capability, including translating complex data into clear commercial insight and concise, actionable narratives.
• Strong organisation skills, including coordinating inputs from multiple stakeholders and managing timelines.
• Strong problem-solving ability, with a focus on priorities and cutting through complexity.
• Experience producing executive-level reporting, including PowerPoint packs for senior leadership.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create clear, insight-led outputs.
• Experience working alongside business partnering teams, supporting senior reporting cycles, and delivering consolidated outputs.
• Exposure to cost transformation, efficiency, or change programmes.
