Engineering Manager (CI/CD, Platform Features & AI)

Location: Hybrid in Utrecht or Amsterdam, with 1–2 days per week onsite. Must be based in the Netherlands and speak Dutch and English.

Rate: €110+ per hour. Contract length: 12–24 months.

What you will do

• Lead multiple engineering teams covering CI/CD, platform features, databases, messaging, and AI.
• Shape the scope of the engineering function as the organisation expands its Dutch capabilities.
• Set a clear technical vision and translate it into a practical roadmap.
• Bring structure to ambiguity and take ownership of undefined areas during the digital transformation programme.
• Coach engineers, build team culture, and develop people across the engineering organisation.
• Translate product and business requirements into technical direction and collaborate across teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager leading multiple teams, ideally across platform or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience taking ownership, stepping into complex situations, and determining what needs to happen.
• Strong people leadership, including coaching, team-culture building, and engineer development.
• Comfort working with ambiguity and organisational change.
• Ability to define a clear vision and turn it into a practical roadmap.
• Solid technical grounding in CI/CD, databases, and messaging.
• Confidence translating product and business requirements into technical direction.
• Strong cross-team collaboration and curiosity about the wider organisation's technology direction.
• Must be based in the Netherlands and speak Dutch and English.

• Exposure to AI/ML teams or tooling.
