Engineering Manager (SaaS)

Location: Hybrid in Amsterdam, Netherlands; relocation compensation and visa sponsorship are offered to expats.

hirify.global provides a cloud-based charge point management SaaS platform for Charge Point Operators and e-Mobility Service Providers, supporting electric vehicle adoption and renewable energy.

What you will do

• Line-manage engineers across up to three development teams and support their growth into autonomous, high-performing teams.
• Set expectations, provide feedback, coach engineers, address performance issues and skill gaps, and support professional development.
• Ensure predictable delivery of high-quality software by managing risks, dependencies, impediments, and delivery improvements.
• Assess engineering decisions and promote software quality, reliability, scalability, maintainability, effective quality control, and clear technical documentation.
• Improve engineering processes, agile ways of working, tools, and practices across the Development department.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the department and translate broader objectives into measurable team improvements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as an Engineering Manager, preferably in a technology scale-up or SaaS environment.
• Solid software engineering background with the technical expertise to evaluate engineering decisions and assess software quality, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams, setting expectations, managing performance, and addressing skill gaps through coaching, feedback, and development.
• Strong focus on delivery and execution, including ownership of results, proactive risk management, and driving improvements.
• Extensive knowledge of software development processes, modern engineering practices, and agile ways of working.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to challenge decisions, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with different stakeholder groups.
• Ability to think strategically and translate plans into concrete actions and measurable improvements.
• Fluency in English.
• Drive for continuous learning and self-improvement, together with a sustainable mindset.
