Senior Cost Manager / Associate Cost Manager (MEP) (Data Centres)

Location: London or another RLB UK office; hybrid working. Projects are delivered across the UK and Europe.

What you will do

• Lead the delivery and performance of large-scale data centre projects across all project phases.
• Provide strategic commercial advice, cost planning, procurement strategy, contract administration and commercial assurance.
• Manage tender processes, contractor queries, preferred-contractor recommendations and value-for-money assessments.
• Deliver pre- and post-contract quantity surveying, including cost planning through RIBA stages, change management, reporting, risk and contingency management, and final accounts.
• Build client relationships, support work winning and business development, and manage internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead people and support team development, financial performance, governance, compliance and continual improvement.

Requirements

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a similar technical discipline.
• MRICS or membership of another relevant professional body.
• Strong technical delivery experience with CSA and/or MEP packages for data centre projects is preferred; strong candidates from other sectors may also be considered.
• Experience working for a consultancy, general contractor or end-user client.
• Experience managing projects and liaising with clients and external consultants throughout all project phases.
• Experience with cost planning, procurement, tendering, contract management, change management, reporting, risk and contingency management, dispute resolution and contract close-out.
• Stakeholder management experience with a focus on developing client accounts.
• Demonstrable leadership capabilities across people, projects and business activities.
• Strong communication skills, autonomy, attention to detail and the ability to comply with commercial, procurement, contractual, environmental, health, safety, security and quality standards.

Nice to have

• Experience in data centres and other advanced technology sectors, such as healthcare or similar.
• Experience maintaining benchmark and market insight reports for the data centre sector and local markets.
