Assistant Quantity Surveyor

What you will do

• Support the Commercial and Finance teams with the commercial management of projects.
• Prepare, submit, and agree interim valuations and final accounts.
• Support procurement by issuing enquiries, analysing quotations, and preparing subcontract orders.
• Measure, price, and value variations in line with contractual requirements.
• Maintain cost records, prepare cost reports and forecasts, and monitor project budgets and financial performance.
• Attend site meetings and engage with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to support project delivery.

Requirements

• Working towards a degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organise workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and develop commercially and professionally.
• Enthusiastic, proactive, detail-oriented, accurate, professional, and collaborative approach with a strong work ethic.

Nice to have

• Experience with NEC3 or NEC4.
• Experience in a construction or civil engineering environment.
• Familiarity with standard forms of contract, including NEC and JCT.
• Experience with measurement software or estimating tools.
• Interest in pursuing RICS chartership.
