Associate Director of Estates Partnering

Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom; Oxford Road

Salary: £85,417–£105,011 per annum depending on experience

What you will do

• Lead the strategic development and delivery of Estates Business Partnering services across Faculties, cultural institutions, Professional Services, and external partners.
• Translate institutional priorities into evidence-based estates plans, service strategies, and capital, maintenance, space, and infrastructure priorities.
• Build trusted relationships with senior colleagues, providing authoritative advice, constructive challenge, and clear escalation routes.
• Oversee service standards, KPIs, governance, continuous improvement, and customer-focused delivery.
• Provide strategic oversight of project prioritisation, briefing, and delivery assurance across capital, revenue, minor works, and long-term maintenance programmes.
• Lead staffing, budgets, business cases, operational resources, risk management, value for money, and partnering team development.

Requirements

• Exceptional estates leadership experience.
• Experience providing senior strategic leadership across a complex estates partnering function.
• Ability to develop integrated estates plans, service strategies, and delivery programmes aligned with institutional priorities.
• Experience engaging with senior academics, Professional Services, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to oversee KPIs, governance, service performance, prioritisation, and delivery assurance.
• Experience managing staffing, budgets, business cases, operational resources, risk, and value for money.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
