Senior Product Applications Engineer (Laser Anneal)

Location: Yokkaichi, Japan. The role requires travel to the USA and within the Asia region for approximately 30% of the time.

What you will do

• Develop laser-anneal applications and process performance in close collaboration with customers, including laser learning and demonstrations.
• Develop and maintain best-known methods for process control, process development, and continuous improvement, and drive adoption of new applications.
• Maintain working knowledge of laser-anneal system processes, hardware, and diagnostics; plan and implement measures to improve system performance.
• Solve process problems and coordinate with service and engineering teams to reach solutions.
• Present technical product information to customers and sales channels, and instruct customers in system operation and maintenance.
• Provide training and technical support to colleagues, customers, and partners while collaborating with service, sales, manufacturing, supply chain, and Asia Pacific product teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering plus at least 8 years of related experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 5 years of experience or a PhD with 3 years of experience.
• Ability to travel to the USA and within the Asia region approximately 30% of the time.
• Semiconductor device knowledge and module process or process integration experience in logic and/or memory fabrication.
• Strong analytical skills, clear spoken and written communication, and the ability to work positively and independently as part of a team.
• Good spoken and written English communication skills.
• Ability to check and approve operational quality of system equipment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD with the corresponding related experience described above.
• Understanding of Rapid Thermal Processing (RTP) or implant processes.
• Customer management experience.
• Japanese business-level language skills.
