What you will do

• Characterize semiconductor lasers, including DFB lasers and electro-absorption modulator integrated lasers.
• Analyze device performance and manufacturing data.
• Improve processes and manufacturing yield through data-driven analysis.
• Investigate root causes and perform failure analysis.
• Conduct statistical analysis and monitor performance trends.
• Develop data models and analysis automation, including machine learning, depending on experience.

Requirements

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in a science or engineering discipline.
• Strong interest in semiconductor or optoelectronic devices, manufacturing, or data science.
• Logical and analytical thinking with persistence in solving complex technical challenges.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, or JMP.
• Basic knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization.
• Fluent Japanese and basic English communication skills are required for reading, writing, online meetings, and email discussions.

Nice to have

• Research or hands-on experience with semiconductor processes, optical devices, or electronic device characterization.
• Practical experience in yield management, quality improvement, or manufacturing process optimization.
