Senior Designer (18-Month Assignment)

Location: New York, United States; onsite role

Annual base salary: $120,000–$170,000, plus a completion bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Independently develop space plans, block plans, stacking diagrams, test fits, and conceptual design solutions.
• Direct external architectural, interior design, specialty consultants, and vendors while reviewing proposals, furniture, finishes, and materials.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and interior design documentation for alignment with approved design intent and project requirements.
• Support construction administration through site observations, RFI and submittal reviews, field-condition coordination, and punch-list resolution.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate evolving business needs into workplace design solutions.
• Own smaller workplace projects and room conversions from concept through completion, including surveys, scope development, documentation, furniture coordination, and implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in architecture, interior design, or a related field.
• Eight to ten years of professional experience in corporate workplace design, space programming, and planning, including projects of up to approximately 100,000 square feet.
• Self-sufficient and resourceful, with the ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
• Deep technical knowledge of architectural detailing, construction documentation, building materials, construction methods, and applicable building codes, including accessibility and ADA requirements.
• Expertise in FF&E, including furniture systems, finishes, materials, specifications, procurement, and installation coordination.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate design recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
• Creative and analytical thinking, sound design judgment, exceptional organization, and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Procore, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Proactive, solutions-oriented approach and willingness to contribute wherever needed.

Nice to have

• Hospitality design experience.
• Experience designing cafés, pantries, and workplace food amenities, including coordination with kitchen and specialty consultants.
• Experience with Enscape.
• NCIDQ certification.
