Interior Designer (CAD/Revit)

Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States; remote work with local DMV-area availability required for on-site support, approximately 25% travel, and extensive on-site support across US facilities and territories.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year.

What you will do

• Consult with clients, stakeholders, project managers, site points of contact, and other project personnel to define space-planning, furniture, timeline, and design requirements.
• Develop test fits, interior layouts, floor plans, elevations, detailed drawings, furniture-tagged plans, furniture schedules, evacuation plans, and wayfinding plans using CAD and Revit.
• Select government BPA furniture vendors and support procurement by preparing statements of work and furniture IGCE workbooks.
• Coordinate design implementation with the Federal Team Lead and project teams, resolving issues and incorporating client feedback.
• Support scopes of work, preliminary budgets, furniture project tracking, funded-project cost reports, and fiscal contract management.
• Maintain project documentation, submittals, weekly reports, project files, as-built drawings, and updated design deliverables in line with current standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Interior Design.
• Mid-level experience in interior design.
• Portfolio demonstrating CAD proficiency, Revit use, and space-planning experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of systems furniture, workplace solutions, furniture procurement, interior accessibility guidelines, and space-use requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk CAD and Revit, with the ability to produce CAFM-ready design sets and detailed furniture documentation.
• Technical proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel; extensive use of PowerPoint and Teams is required.
• Strong spatial design skills, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting design concepts and interacting with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with design professionals and maintain a strong client focus.

Nice to have

• Government experience is beneficial.
• Experience with SketchUp or other industry-standard design software.
